Doriédson's path to becoming a member of the Military Police was influenced significantly by his uncle, a Military Police in the Brazilian Army, who shared his deep-rooted passion for all things military. The childhood bond they shared, playing with toy soldiers, constructing military bases, and devising tactical maneuvers, forged a lasting connection to the world of uniformed service.
Before embarking on his career in the Military Police, Doriédson worked alongside his father as an electrician and hydraulic firefighter. He then pursued various security-related courses, including roles as a security guard, transportation of valuables, and even training for a career as a prison guard. Each experience brought its unique challenges and rewards, laying the groundwork for his future in law enforcement.
The journey into the Military Police was no walk in the park. It was marked by relentless dedication to his studies and a grueling work schedule. Yet, his unwavering commitment to learning and growth persisted. The turning point in Doriédson's life came during his initial training in Combat First Aid (Pre-Hospital Combat Care). It was during this course that he grasped the vital importance of knowing how to save lives in the most challenging circumstances. The phrase "the uncertainty of the next second" became a mantra, reminding him of the unpredictable nature of emergency situations. He realized that being prepared to render aid could mean the difference between life and death.
What deeply touched me was my first Combat First Aid course because it made me realize how much I might need that knowledge to save lives. I have a strong desire to help people, and that's what motivates me. "Studying to help." "Lives matter."
Doriédson's dedication to the field of Pre-Hospital Care (PHC) has grown immensely over the years. He describes it as a passion that continually drives him to improve. Through his journey in PHC, he has emerged as a hero in numerous real-life situations, employing his skills and training to save lives. These moments are etched vividly in his memory, such as assisting his one-year-old goddaughter when she choked, providing aid to a woman with a deep wrist laceration from a glass door incident, intervening in a dog attack, and attending to a man stabbed by criminals. Each experience reinforced his belief in the significance of preparedness and his capacity to make a meaningful impact.
His most recent encounter during a patrol involved a victim with severe leg bleeding. In this critical situation, he and his team swiftly applied established protocols, using a tourniquet to halt the bleeding and utilizing Multi-functional scissors to expose the wound and identify additional sources of bleeding. They subsequently transported the injured individual to the nearest hospital. This incident underscores the vital importance of readiness and the lasting impact it can have. These are among the most unforgettable examples of his career.
