Introduction for Use
The Rhino Rescue Constricting Band is designed for rapid venous access in intravenous (IV) procedures. Utilizing a rolling action, this band transfuses venous blood to distal veins while maintaining arterial flow, ensuring efficient vein distention for quicker and more effective IV access, even in challenging patients.
Instructions for Use
Step 1: To find the correct size, gently wrap the constricting band around the arm in its relaxed state. It should measure between 1/2 and 2/3 of the circumference of the extremity.
Step 2: Stretch the constricting band straight out and place it as high as possible around the upper arm. Keep your fingers underneath the connectors as you secure it in place to prevent pinching the skin.
Step 3: Ensure your fingers remain underneath the connectors while securing the band to avoid pinching the skin.
Step 4: Press the "Quick Release" button and pull to remove the constricting band.
Warnings
The Constricting Band should be used only by trained medical professionals. Improper use could result in injury to the casualty. Reuse of this device will degrade its efficacy, potentially leading to adverse reactions, including possible death. Continually monitor the casualty to ensure the Constricting Band is functioning according to medical protocols.
Disposal
The Constricting Band is a single-use device and is designed for disposal after use. Do not attempt to clean or reuse the device, as this may increase the possibility of cross-contamination. Dispose of the device in a manner that ensures the isolation of potential substances in accordance with universal protocols.
Description
The Rhino Rescue Constricting Band quickly locates veins for intravenous (IV) access. Designed by Rhino Rescue, this constricting band employs a rolling action to transfuse venous blood to distal veins while maintaining arterial flow. For optimal results, the constricting band should be placed as high as possible on the limb. This technique causes vein distention, allowing for faster and more effective IV access even in the most challenging patients.
The design includes quick connectors and quick-release features, significantly improving operational efficiency. Healthcare professionals no longer need to repeatedly tie and untie the constricting band, reducing the time spent treating combat casualties, civilian trauma patients, or patients with poor vascular access (such as those requiring diabetic wound care).
