SUNTOUCH Soluble Hemostatic Gauze: Advanced Wound Care
Experience superior wound management with SUNTOUCH Soluble Hemostatic Gauze. This soft, uniformly colored fabric, available in two sizes - 10x10cm and 10x90cm, is made primarily of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose. Its light yellow or white knitted fabric is sterile packaged in foil bags, ensuring its three-year shelf life.
Effective Hemostatic Action
SUNTOUCH Soluble Hemostatic Gauze is designed to quickly absorb exudates from the wound surface, forming a viscous gel that effectively stops bleeding, protects the wound, and accelerates healing for trauma and post-operative wounds. When the gauze comes into contact with a bleeding site, it rapidly absorbs water from the exudates, creating a gelatinous mass that fills wound voids, seals capillary ends, and aids in hemostasis.
Indications and Contraindications
SUNTOUCH Soluble Hemostatic Gauze is ideal for external, short-term use in controlling bleeding from lacerations, cuts, abrasions, and venipuncture for the general population, including those on anticoagulant medications. However, it is not intended for large-area wound hemostasis or large artery hemorrhage.
Usage Guidelines
To use SUNTOUCH Soluble Hemostatic Gauze, remove it from its sterile packaging and cut it to fit the wound area. Apply slight direct pressure until the bleeding stops. The dosage can be adjusted based on the amount and nature of the bleeding, with multiple layers applied if needed. If the gauze becomes saturated, moisten it with sterile water or saline solution, then gently wipe away any excess material.
General Directions
Fold SUNTOUCH in half to create two layers, then apply it to the cleaned wound using dry instruments or gloves. Apply pressure to the wound site and add more layers if needed, moistening with saline for better adherence. If desired, combine with standard wound dressings for additional protection. In case of recurring bleeding, reapply pressure and add more layers as needed. To remove excess material, rinse with saline and gently wipe—do not peel the gauze off directly.
